Presidential Ambition Of Popular Flagbearer Hits The Rocks As EC Refuses To Register His Group As Political Party
Jul 13, 2024
Leader of New Force, an emerging political movement, Nana Kwame Bediako nicknamed Freedom Jacob Caesar has expressed frustration about his attempt to register his movement as a political party.
Having gone through all the laid down structures, the Ghanaian business mogul said his movement is yet to be approved as a political party.
Mr Bediako explained that the New Force Movement had submitted all necessary forms and requirements to the Electoral Commission on September 12, 2023.
The laws of the country require the Electoral Commission to reply to him within seven days. Nonetheless, he said upon several follow- ups, he has only been provided with a provisional certificate which is not enough to allow him to contest the upcoming general elections on the ticket of the New Force.
In light of this, Nana Kwame Bediako has declared his intention to contest the forthcoming presidential elections as an independent candidate.
This way, he believes he would have ample time to engage in massive campaign activities which will see him rub shoulders with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
He has, in the meantime, put on hold, any decision to register New Force as a political party, blaming the elections management body for foul play.
" We submitted all the forms and requirements needed for a citizen to form a party so we can also become a part of our national government and contribute to the development of this country, " he said.
