GOOD NEWS To Nigerians As Government Announces Recruitment For Immigration, Federal Fire Service
Jul 17, 2024
The Federal Government of Nigeria has announced a massive recruitment exercise for the Nigerian Immigration Service (NIS) and the Federal Fire Service (FFS). This move is aimed at strengthening the country' s security architecture and improving the effectiveness of its law enforcement agencies.
According to a statement released by the Ministry of Interior, the recruitment exercise is part of the government' s efforts to address the manpower needs of the two services. The NIS is seeking to recruit 5, 000 new officers, while the FFS is looking to recruit 3, 000 new firefighters.
The recruitment exercise is open to all eligible Nigerians who meet the specified requirements. Applicants for the NIS must be between 18 and 35 years old, possess a minimum of a Bachelor' s degree or its equivalent, and be physically fit. Those applying for the FFS must also be between 18 and 35 years old, possess a minimum of a West African School Certificate or its equivalent, and be physically fit.
The government has assured that the recruitment exercise will be transparent and merit- based, with a level playing field for all applicants. The selection process will involve a written examination, physical fitness test, and oral interview.
The Nigerian Immigration Service plays a critical role in the country' s security architecture, responsible for the management of the nation' s borders, immigration, and emigration. The service has been facing manpower challenges in recent years, which have hindered its effectiveness in carrying out its mandate.
