They got engaged when Angela met Michael in person, but Michael’s journey to get a K-1 visa was challenging. Angela decided they could get married in Michael’s country to get him a spousal visa.

Michael still had to face visa delays since they married in January 2020 before the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. Angela kept flying back and forth to meet Michael.
