Richard Ahiagbah, the National Communication Director of Ghana' s New Patriotic Party (NPP), narrowly escaped a severe road accident late Friday night. The crash occurred near Konongo in the Ashanti region, around 1: 30 am on the Kumasi- Accra highway. Ahiagbah was traveling alone from Accra to Kumasi when the incident happened.

According to eyewitnesses, it appears Ahiagbah may have fallen asleep at the wheel. This led to a collision with an articulated truck, resulting in significant damage to his vehicle. The impact was so severe that Ahiagbah sustained life- threatening injuries. Fortunately, prompt medical attention was available, and he was swiftly transported to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for emergency treatment.

Paul Kwabena Yandoh, the Ashanti Regional Communications Director for the NPP, confirmed the accident and Ahiagbah' s subsequent hospitalization. He assured the public that Ahiagbah is receiving the best possible care. Although his condition is critical, he is responding to treatment, offering a glimmer of hope to his family, friends, and party members.

The news of the accident has deeply affected the NPP community. Party members have expressed shock and concern, rallying around Ahiagbah and his family during this difficult time. Many have taken to social media to share messages of support and prayers for his speedy recovery.
