Azubuike Chibuzor Nelson popularly known by his stage name as Phyno is a famous Nigerian indigenous hip hop rapper, record producer, songwriter, singer, stage performer, model and a television personality. He is popularly known as Ezege, Eze-nnunu, and Phyno the playmaker. He has been described as the best indigenous rapper in Nigeria. He was born on 9th October 1986 in Abakpa-Nike, Enugu State in the south eastern part of Nigeria. He is currently 37 years old.
Phyno is originally from Anambra State in the south eastern part of Nigeria but grew up in Abakpa, Enugu the coal city state. He is very handsome, gifted, skillful, creative and talented. He completed both his primary and secondary school education in Enugu, Nigeria and obtained both his first school leaving certificate and west African senior school certificate.
After completing his primary and secondary school education, Phyno proceeded to the Institute of Management and Technology (IMT) in Enugu and graduated with a National Diploma (OND) in Public Administration. His stage name Phyno, which is derived from the word “phenomenal” was the nickname given to him by one of his high school friend named Emeka.
Phyno developed an interest for music production during his secondary school days. He initially wanted to become a pilot, but was told that he could be a doctor instead, but he ended up becoming a musician. Throughout his high school days, Phyno focused all his attention in music and learned to play the drums and piano. He also learned to create his own rendition of every recordings he heard.
