Reflecting on the period between 1976 and 1981, Oyedepo highlighted how his extensive reading of works by influential faith leaders Kenneth E. Hagin and E. W. Kenyon profoundly impacted his spiritual journey.

Oyedepo shared that during these transformative years, he immersed himself in the writings of Kenneth E. Hagin, a key figure in the modern faith movement. " In 1976- 1981, I read almost all the books of faith written by Kenneth E. Hagin, which formed a strong faith platform for my life and future tasks, " Oyedepo noted. He credited Hagin' s teachings with laying a solid groundwork for his faith and ministry, emphasizing that the books provided a crucial basis for his spiritual and theological principles.

Kenneth E. Hagin, often heralded as the " father of the modern faith movement, " is renowned for his teachings on faith, healing, and the power of spoken words. His work has significantly influenced many Christians globally, including Oyedepo. Hagin' s emphasis on faith and healing not only resonated with Oyedepo but also shaped his approach to ministry and personal faith.
