Rumors of celebrities joining secret societies for wealth and fame have circulated for decades. These claims, often sensationalized, suggest that some of the biggest names in the entertainment industry have " sold their souls" to achieve global success. In Nigeria, several musicians have been the subject of such allegations, with many speculating about their involvement in the infamous Illuminati.
One of the most notable figures in these discussions is Wizkid, The speculation began in 2012 when the superstar was spotted making the " all- seeing eye" gesture alongside Jude Okoye. In 2018, the rumors gained momentum after Wizkid purchased a goat as a pet, a move that many linked to the Illuminati' s symbolic use of goats.
Furthermore, up- and- coming artist Aloe Inas accused Wizkid of consulting a shrine before signing new artists, a claim that Wizkid dismissed as the singer' s fear of taking risks.
Charlie Boy, another iconic figure in Nigerian entertainment, has also faced similar accusations. Known for his eccentric behavior, including appearing with a snake at events and embracing his female alter ego, Charlie Boy has been linked to the Illuminati. He once even joked about being the leader of the Nigerian Illuminati sect.
In 2017, Davido faced intense scrutiny after the tragic deaths of three of his friends within a week. Some speculated that these deaths were part of a ritual sacrifice for his career success. Controversial journalist Kemi Olunloyo further fueled the rumors by questioning Davido about his family' s wealth and the possibility of ritualistic practices.
