Nollywood actress and movie producer Sharon Okpamen passed away on Sunday, nearly a month after giving birth to her second child.

The tragic news was confirmed by her colleague, Stanley Ontop, in an Instagram post on Saturday, August 24, 2024.

In his post, Ontop wrote, “Nollywood Actor and Producer Sharon Okpamen has unfortunately passed on. It’s a sad day for Nollywood & the Edo entertainment industry. Sharon, who was a filmmaker, actress, entrepreneur & humanitarian, has left a significant void in the industry. May her soul rest in perfect peace, Amen.”

Sharon, who was also an entrepreneur and humanitarian, announced the birth of her second child on July 31 through her Facebook page. Sadly, she reportedly fell into a coma following the childbirth and did not recover.

Her passing has left a significant impact on the Nollywood and Edo entertainment industry, where she was well-respected and admired. Sharon’s contributions to the film industry and her community will be deeply missed.
