Today marks the fourth anniversary of one of the most jaw- dropping moments in Ghana' s entertainment history— the infamous fake awards scandal orchestrated by the now- infamous Kwame Owusu Fordjour, better known as Dr. UN. In 2018, Dr. UN pulled off an audacious stunt that left Ghana' s biggest stars and public figures reeling in disbelief.

Picture this: A glamorous night at the Alisa Hotel in Accra, where the crème de la crème of Ghanaian society gathered, dressed to the nines, to receive what they believed were prestigious international awards.

The air was thick with excitement and anticipation as the likes of Sarkodie, the legendary rapper, former University of Ghana Vice- Chancellor Prof. Ebenezer Oduro, and media darlings like Berla Mundi, Captain Smart, and Johnny Hughes took the stage to accept their honours. Business mogul Chairman Wontumi and rapper D- Black were also among the " elite" who received the supposed accolades.

But what none of these luminaries realized was that the entire ceremony was nothing more than an elaborate hoax. The grand awards they clutched with pride were as fake as the man who handed them out. Dr. UN had masterfully duped some of the most respected figures in the country, transforming what was meant to be a night of celebration into a national spectacle of embarrassment.
