FOPRES incorporates life skills, distributes assistance for back-to-school

Some 35 persons in the South West region benefited from the first-holiday skill acquisition programme organised in Buea by Fongoh & Partners Real Estate Solutions Limited.
For sixty days, participants engaged in agriculture and its business activities. During the August 28, 2024 closing event at the FOPRES headquarters in Bunduma Buea, South West region, they said they had been impacted with life skills. They also received cashed gifts of over 1.5 million FIFA.
Ngwa Faithfulness, a Form Five student who took part in the activities, said he had learned to communicate with people of various ages. He explained that he particularly learned how to care for plantain stems during planting and growing. The Ordinary-Level student said the assistance was timely as he had to face the academic year footing his bills himself.
The holiday jobbers also learned how to mill palm oil, and prawn palm nuts according to Bunui Bernice Asongwe another beneficiary. The final-year university student said the experience had imbibed in her skills, which will assist her throughout life to be self-sustainable.
The representative of the participant’s parents, Mbah Walters conveyed gratitude to the organizers while reflecting on the impact of the activity. “We are not just happy, but we are also becoming partners. Because we know real estate changes lives,” he said noting, that his children had from the exercise often discussed ideas on how one can purchase a legit land in Buea.
