The scandal involving Adeolu Adeboye, the son of Pastor Enoch Adeboye of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has raised significant concerns about accountability and transparency in the handling of public funds in Nigeria. The controversy centers around an 8- kilometer road construction project in Zaria, Kaduna State, awarded to Adeolu' s company, Ronchess Global Resources Plc. This project, initially valued at N8. 74 billion and later revised to N17. 26 billion, was supposed to be completed within 18 months, with a final deadline set for January 2021. However, as of May 2024, the project was only 30% completed, despite the disbursement of over N8 billion by the Kaduna State Government.

The failure to complete the project has led to a series of investigations and legal battles. The Kaduna State Government, along with the Kaduna State House of Assembly, initiated a probe into the matter, seeking to hold Ronchess Global Resources Plc accountable for the apparent mismanagement of funds. However, instead of cooperating with the investigation, Adeolu Adeboye filed a lawsuit at the Federal High Court in Lagos to prevent his arrest and further scrutiny by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), the Kaduna State Government, and the Kaduna State House of Assembly.
