Samia Yaba Nkrumah is a popular Ghanaian politician and former chairperson of the Convention People’s Party making her the first woman to ever head a major political party in Ghana.
In the year 2008 parliamentary election, she won the Jomoro constituency seat at her first attempt.

She became history in 2008 when she was elected to a legislative seat as the first female CPP MP. Nkrumah is still well-known in Ghanaian politics despite her struggles, having fought for social justice, economic empowerment, and the carrying on of her father’s legacy.
