According to recent reports, Ghanaian actor Clement Bonney, popularly known as Mr Beautiful, has expressed regret over being sidelined in the Kumawood movie industry due to his political affiliations.

In a candid interview on Showbiz 360 with Giovani Caleb, Mr Beautiful revealed that he faced "intimidation" and was not cast for movie roles after openly declaring his support for John Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in 2012.

The actor stated, "My only regret for the industry is because of that sidelined I got due to my affiliation with the NDC, they automatically reduced the quality content that my audience has to enjoy. That is the painful aspect."

Despite the challenges he faced, Mr Beautiful maintained that he does not regret joining the NDC.

He explained, "Whatever I went through, I knew before going through. I have not regretted supporting the NDC because Mahama's family is a very unique family."

The actor emphasized his versatility in the entertainment industry, saying, "I am an entertainer and not just an actor, so anything entertainment you can put me there."

Mr Beautiful also addressed the issue of language barriers in the Kumawood industry.

He revealed that some producers wanted him to speak Asante Twi in movies, but he insisted on using his native Fante language.
