NDC Protestor Who Destroyed Bawumia's Poster At National Cathedral Site Arrested
Sep 20, 2024
Ralph St. Williams popularly known as Fellow Ghanaians, a member of Fix The Country, has been arrested by the Ghana Police Service. His arrest was allegedly in connection with an act he put up during the recently held " Enough is Enough" demonstration organized by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
A viral video of the suspect shows him tearing down some posters at the Cathedral project site and expressing his anger over the misuse of public funds. He and other demonstrators later stormed the National Cathedral project site to swim in a pool of water that had gathered there.
News of his arrest was shared by Oliver Baker- Vormawor, the founder of Fix The Country Movement, via his X (formally Twitter) page on Thursday, September 19.
According to Oliver Baker- Vormawor, Fellow Ghanaian was nabbed at the Kotoka International Airport when he was travelling to Kumasi. Oliver condemned the arrest, insisting Ghana should have gone past this level of intimidation after thirty years of practising democracy.
The founder of the Fix The Country Movement alleged that the arrest was targeted at destructing the movement' s upcoming demonstration against illegal mining commonly called galamsey. He demanded an immediate release of their member, calling for an official apology from the authorities for what he described as a blatant attempt to silence critical voices.
