Major Blow To NPP As Sharaf Mahama Makes A Move That Might Hurt Them
Sep 22, 2024
Sharaf Mahama, son of former President John Dramani Mahama, has officially stepped into the political spotlight. Sharaf was seen addressing a large crowd in Greater Accra, marking his first public appearance in support of his father’s presidential campaign.
Sharaf’s move is seen as a potential setback for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and its candidate, Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, ahead of the 2024 elections. In a Facebook post, Sharaf shared his excitement about engaging with communities, calling for collective action to secure a brighter future for Ghana.
"This is our homeland, Ghana, and the prosperity of our nation depends on us coming together to build it,” Sharaf said, urging Ghanaians to unite behind his father, whom he described as “trusted, reliable, and experienced.”
Sharaf’s entry into the political scene is expected to boost John Mahama’s campaign, adding pressure on the NPP as the race for the 2024 elections heats up. Tell us what you think about this move.
