The Manhyia Palace has refused an apology from Afia Pokuaa, who reportedly passed comments considered to be in bad taste which sought to denigrate the royal occupant of the Golden Stool, HRH Otumfour Osei Tutu II.

Afia Pokuaa was a guest on Mona Gucci’s show on Onua Tv and made some comments in defense of the Bono people over some actions from Asantehene.

Afia Pokua and some representatives from Media General paid a courtesy call on Otumfuor Osei Tutu II to apologize to him and the entire Asanteman over their derogatory statements.

However, the Asantehene's Saamanhene on behalf of Manhyia Palace, rebuffed the plea from Afia Pokuaa , Onua Tv and Media General, indicating that such statement was an immense impertinence to Otumfour and the entire Asante Kingdom.

‘’It’s only in Ashanti Region that other tribes are permitted to install chiefs to embody their people. Towns in Ashanti Region such as Anloga, Moshie Zongo, Fante New Town and others are huge examples that shows clearly that we don’t hate non-Ashantis, rather we love togetherness, so why all these hate?" Saamanhene questioned.

He, thus, cautioned the public to refrain from making derogatory remarks towards the occupant of the Golden stool and Ashanti’s as a whole.

‘’As for the so called Afia Pokuaa, we have nothing to tell her, she should go and wait for the outcome’’ he gravely said.
