The Kano State Hisbah Board recently arrested a popular TikTok influencer, Hafsat Babu, also known as Hafsat Baby, following the circulation of a nude video that has sparked widespread controversy across the state. The Commander- in- Chief of the Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, confirmed her arrest, pointing out her reputation for sharing inappropriate content on social media, particularly on TikTok.

Sheikh Daurawa released a video on Monday showing Hafsat Baby along with other women who had been arrested by the agency and brought to his office. However, he did not provide additional details regarding the circumstances of the arrest or what the next steps might be. Hafsat Baby' s arrest follows the public release of her nude video, which has caused considerable uproar.

The scandal erupted shortly after Hafsat Baby had posted a video on TikTok announcing her decision to delete all her previous controversial content. In that post, she explained that she had received guidance from the Hisbah Board about her activities on the platform, prompting her to change the nature of the content she was sharing. However, this attempt at reform was overshadowed by the sudden leak of her private video, which has drawn significant public attention.

In response to the leaked video, Hafsat Baby took to TikTok in an audio message to clarify the situation. She explained that the video in question had been filmed over two years ago, and she expressed confusion about how it resurfaced. According to her, the footage was a private Snapchat video she took after stepping out of the shower, and she insisted that she had deleted it from her phone immediately after it was recorded. Hafsat Baby emphasized that she never saved or sent the video to anyone, leaving her puzzled about how it became public.
