Sep 27, 2024
Italian-born Ghanaian youngster Patrick Amoako Nuamah found the net in Brescia Calcio's 3-1 defeat to Monza in the Coppa Italia on Thursday evening at U-Power Stadium.
Nuamah, who came on as a halftime substitute for Italian attacker Giacomo Olzer, made an immediate impact, reducing the deficit in the 68th minute with a well-taken left-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Ante Juric. Despite his efforts, Brescia couldn't mount a comeback.
Monza dominated early on, with Georgios Kyriakopoulos opening the scoring in the 5th minute. Matteo Pessina doubled the lead with a header just six minutes later, and Gianluca Caprari converted a penalty in the 40th minute to put Monza in full control.
English-born Ghanaian Omari Forson also featured for Monza, who enjoyed superior possession and more chances throughout the game.
With this result, Brescia shifts focus to their upcoming Serie B clash against Cremonese on September 30th, seeking to bounce back from their Coppa Italia exit.
