Simon Ekpa, a self- proclaimed minister of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), has claimed that forces aligned with the Biafra Liberation Army (BLA) launched a significant counterattack against the Nigerian military in the southern region of Nigeria, resulting in the deaths of several Nigerian soldiers. Ekpa, known for his inflammatory rhetoric and leadership within the separatist movement, made the announcement through a post on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter), where he alleged that the Nigerian soldiers had intended to carry out an assault on the local community.

In his post, Ekpa declared that the Biafran forces were successful in defending their territory, repelling the Nigerian military' s attack and causing significant casualties among the soldiers. He suggested that the Nigerian soldiers had arrived with the intent to burn down the community but were met with strong resistance from the joint forces of the Biafra Liberation Army and the Biafra Resistance Fighters.

" The joint defense of the Biafra Liberation Army and Biafra Resistance Fighters has neutralized many terrorists from the @HQNigerianArmy in Lilu as they came to attack and burn the community. You can go and verify, " Ekpa stated in his message, further fueling the ongoing tensions between the Nigerian government and separatist groups.
