Meet Rahman Osman: The Ghanaian Who Has Become One of the Most Respected Journalists in the UK
Sep 30, 2024
A quick scroll through X (formerly Twitter) shows that numerous news and media outlets in the UK frequently reference Rahman Osman as a reliable source for anything credible concerning Premier League teams.
Rahman is a Ghanaian who attended Adisadel College in Ghana and completed his first degree at the University of Ghana before pursuing higher education at the highly respected University of Westminster in London, where he earned a Master’s in International and Multimedia Journalism.
Rahman began his journalism career as a student journalist at Global Media Alliance, which owned ETV and Happy FM, among others. But it wasn’t long before he was heard on Citi FM, despite still being a student at Legon.
He also served as one of the editors of Ghana’s leading football website, Ghanasoccernet, along with other writing jobs, making it clear early on that he had a talent for reporting.

After arriving in London, just six months into his studies, Rahman landed his first job as the first African reporter for the Daily Mirror which at the time was the second most widely read newspaper in Britain. He stayed there for two years before being approached by NationalWorld, which owns The Scotsman, among other publications, to help launch a website covering London — one of the greatest cities in the world.
