IPHC Leader Sandlana Sues Nimrod Nkosi, Look At What Happened That Surprised Everybody
Oct 2, 2024
Jeremiah Modise Sandlana, leader of a faction of the International Pentecostal Holiness Church (IPHC), has filed a defamation lawsuit against television personality Nimrod Nkosi. The legal battle stems from comments Nkosi allegedly made that Sandlana claims have damaged his reputation and standing within the religious community.
According to Sandlana, Nkosi publicly accused him of mismanagement and inappropriate conduct in relation to his role within the IPHC, one of South Africa’s largest and most influential churches. These accusations reportedly surfaced during a public address and on social media platforms, where Nkosi allegedly made statements questioning Sandlana's leadership abilities and integrity.
In court papers filed last week, Sandlana’s legal team argued that Nkosi’s remarks were unfounded and intended to tarnish the church leader’s reputation. They further claimed that the statements had caused significant harm to Sandlana's image, particularly among his followers and other church members.
“The remarks made by Mr. Nkosi have caused severe emotional distress to my client and have negatively impacted his standing both within the IPHC and the broader religious community,” said Sandlana’s lawyer. The lawsuit seeks damages for defamation, as well as a public apology from Nkosi.
