According to the underground news source on Russian politicians, Cheka- OGPU on Telegram, Zavizenov held the position of director of risk management at Inter RAO, a Moscow- based energy holding company, from 2010 to 2016.

The firm was headed by Boris Kovalchuk, son of Yuri Kovalchuk, and was one of the top energy companies in the nation at the time Zavizenov was hired.
