We are now gelling as a team - Hearts of Oak striker Asamoah Boateng Afriyie
Oct 2, 2024
Hearts of Oak striker Asamoah Boateng Afriyie has shared insights into the team’s slow start to the Ghana Premier League season, citing growing telepathy among players as a key factor in their recent struggles.
The Phobians have managed just one win from their opening four matches, leaving fans disappointed. Despite this, Afriyie, who has featured in all four games, remains upbeat about the team's progress.
“I’m playing a different role. I’m not worried about the goal drought. We are now gelling as a team. We are all keen about the team’s success, not personal glory,” Afriyie said following Hearts' goalless draw against his former club, Nations FC, last Sunday.
Afriyie, who joined Hearts of Oak from Nations FC during the off-season, is yet to find the back of the net. However, his focus remains on contributing to the team's overall performance rather than personal achievements.
Hearts of Oak will look to secure their second win of the season when they take on Aduana Stars, another side searching for their first victory after four rounds of matches.
