A former Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Ejisu Municipality in the Ashanti Region under the John Mahama administration, Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh, has passed away.

The news of his death broke on Sunday afternoon, October 6. Although the exact cause of death remains unclear, close sources revealed that Mr Ponkoh had been unwell for several weeks before his passing.

The late Afrifa Yamoah Ponkoh was a key figure within the National Democratic Congress (NDC), having served in various capacities during his political career.

In response to the tragic news, Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communications Officer of the NDC, expressed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family through a post on Facebook.
