UK Visa Application Process in Ghana Shifts to VFS Global from October 22
Oct 23, 2024
Effective October 22, Ghanaians applying for United Kingdom (UK) visas must submit their applications to a new Visa Application Centre (VAC), operated by VFS Global. This change, initiated by UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI), aims to improve service efficiency and convenience for applicants, ensuring a smoother visa application process. The transition from the previous supplier, TLScontact, will not affect visa application fees or processing times.
Located at the Mezzanine Floor, Grand Oyeeman Building, South Liberation Link in Accra, the new VAC will offer improved digital innovations and enhanced customer service for Ghanaian applicants. UKVI Director for Visa, Status and Information Services, Marc Owen, expressed excitement about this milestone, which aligns with the UK's global strategy to modernize and streamline visa services.
Applicants who began the visa application process with TLScontact will be contacted via email to complete their applications with VFSGlobal. As part of a broader initiative, the UK will continue to overhaul its visa services, including implementing an Electronic Travel Authorisation system by 2025. This change reflects the UK's commitment to delivering world-class visa operations and providing a seamless experience for global customers.
