In a significant legal development, the Adamawa State Police Command has arraigned five individuals on charges of criminal conspiracy and defilement of a minor. The suspects appeared before Chief Magistrate Court I in Yola, the state capital, where they were ordered to be remanded in prison custody.

According to a statement released by the police command' s spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroji, the individuals identified as Ibrahim Aliyu, Muhammed Adamu, Gaddafi Adamu, Usman Umar, and Musa Isa, all residents of Yola town in the Yola South Local Government Area, are facing serious allegations.

The presiding judge, Magistrate Alheri Ishaku, issued the remand order while awaiting legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecutions regarding the case. This step is crucial as it determines the next course of action in the legal proceedings against the accused.

The allegations stem from a First Information Report submitted by the prosecuting officer, ASP Zakka Musa, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police. The report indicates that the defendants allegedly conspired and raped a minor (whose identity has been withheld for privacy reasons) from Mafia Quarters in Yola town.

During the investigation, medical experts conducted a DNA test, which confirmed that Ibrahim Aliyu, the first suspect, was responsible for the pregnancy of the victim, highlighting the severity of the charges against him. These actions are in violation of Sections 60 and 211 of the Penal Code Laws.
