Equatorial Guinea' s government has taken drastic measures against Baltasar Engonga, the dismissed director of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF). Chief Prosecutor Anatolio Nzang Nguema announced plans for medical tests to determine, if Engonga has a sexually transmitted disease (STD), then it could lead to prosecution for crimes against public health.

Recall that, Leaked videos allegedly show Engonga, also known as " Bello, " engaging in sexual acts with multiple women, including daughters and wives of high- ranking officials, in his office. The intimate clips quickly went viral, sparking widespread outrage and embarrassment for the government.

A statement from the vice- president' s office condemned the videos, citing damage to the country' s image. An investigation is ongoing, with Engonga' s fate hanging in balance.

Citizens are split, with some applauding transparency and others questioning the government' s motives. " Is this a genuine pursuit of justice or a distraction from deeper issues? " asked one Malabo resident.
