She passed away on July 13, 1993, and her memory continues to be honored by her family and community.

Eleanor was a lawyer and the first Ashanti Regional Manager of DHL.
She hailed from the Botase Royal Family of Asante Mampong.
Her union with Nana Akufo-Addo resulted in a daughter named Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo.
Their daughter Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo is now married Kwabena Jumah, the son of the Managing Director of GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited.
Edwina currently, owns a restaurant in Accra with her sisters known as Nsuom Nam located at Cantonments.
30 Year Anniversary of Her Passing
Last year, July 13, 2023, the 30th anniversary of the late Madam Eleanor Akosua Akufo Addo's passing was observed, commemorating the life and contributions of President Akufo-Addo's late wife.
To honor her memory, President Akufo-Addo, alongside their daughter, Edwina Nana Dokua Akufo-Addo, dedicated a Social Centre that carries Eleanor Akosua AkufoAddo's name.
The Eleanor Akosua Akufo-Addo Social Centre, constructed in Asante Mampong, serves as a lasting tribute to her remarkable legacy and the positive impact she made during her lifetime.
