Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, born on August 11, 1980, in Ghana, is a prominent Ghanaian politician and the current Member of Parliament for North Tongu in the Volta Region.
Ablakwa has had a distinguished career in both political and academic fields. At the age of 28, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Information under the presidency of the late John Evans Atta Mills.
He later served as Deputy Minister of Education, contributing significantly to the country's educational policies as reported by Pulse Ghana.
Ablakwa's involvement in politics extends beyond his ministerial roles. He has been an influential figure in the National Democratic Congress (NDC) and was part of the team that drafted the party's youth policies for the 2008 election campaign.
His political journey also includes his tenure as President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) from 2005 to 2006, where he advocated for student rights and welfare.
In addition to his political roles, Ablakwa is an accomplished writer and author, and he was a member of the Committee for Joint Action (CJA), a pressure group focused on advocating for the masses.
He holds a Master’s degree in Communications from the University of Leicester, a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Ghana, and a Leadership Certificate from Harvard University.
