The Akwamuhene, Odeneho Kwafo Akoto III, has officially announced the passing of Nana Kwame Asamoah Yeboah-Afari, founder and Executive Director of the Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort. According to a statement released on November 19, 2024, Nana Yeboah-Afari passed away on October 28, 2024, after a short illness.
According to a statement, Nana Yeboah-Afari, who also held the traditional title of Adantamhene of Akwamu, was a distinguished figure in Ghana's hospitality sector and a respected leader in the Akwamu Traditional Area. His death marks a significant loss to both the traditional community and the business landscape in the region.
The Akwamu Traditional Council has outlined plans to honor the late Nana Yeboah-Afari. A 40-day observance will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at the Bogyawe Palace in Akwamufie. The event will be preceded by a vigil on Friday, December 13, 2024, at the Royal Senchi Hotel and Resort in Senchi-Akwamu.
The observances are expected to attract a large gathering, including traditional rulers, dignitaries, members of the hospitality industry, and the general public. These events will serve as an opportunity to celebrate his life and lasting contributions.
Nana Yeboah-Afari was instrumental in transforming the Royal Senchi Hotel into a premier hospitality destination in Ghana. Known for its world-class amenities and scenic location along the Volta River, the hotel has hosted numerous international and local events, boosting tourism in the area.
