Stellar season earns Billiat widespread recognition
Zimbabwe's Afcon qualification motivates continued strong performances
Future undecided: PSL return remains possible
WHAT HAPPENED?
Khama Billiat, at 34 years old, has completed his one-year contract with Yadah FC in Zimbabwe's Castle Lager Premier Soccer League.
He had an exceptional season, earning a nomination for Player of the Season, being voted into the Soccer Stars of the Year, and finishing as the runner-up in the league's top goal scorers with 13 goals.
Additionally, he made a triumphant return to the Warriors national team, helping them qualify for Afcon 2025 in Morocco.
Speculation surrounds his next move, with options in Zimbabwe, Tanzania, or a possible return to South Africa’s PSL all apparently on the table.
WHAT BILLIAT SAID
“Let’s say it’s a great recognition. You know, as players, you always want your effort to be recognised, and I truly appreciate and, ja, it makes me feel young again,” Billiat said at the beginning of November to iDiski Times when asked about PSL clubs keeping tabs on him.
He also retweeted an African Soccer Updates post which seemed to confirm his leaving Yadah FC and his return to South Africa.
