Video Shows The Current State Of The Newly Built Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange

On Friday FM, Adom TV, took a quick video of the newly built Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange. This interchange is the second phase of the main Obetsebi Lamptey Interchange in Accra which is set to be commissioned today, November 29, 2024. The project is fully completed as ready to commissioned.
The event will mark a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to improve road infrastructure and reduce traffic congestion in the city.
Mr. Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at the Presidency, announced the commissioning on his Facebook page. According to him, this phase of the project will enhance connectivity between major areas such as Kaneshie, Kwame Nkrumah Circle, and the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital, one of the country’s leading healthcare facilities​​​​.
The €92 million project was executed by Messrs QGC UK Limited and features a 389-meter steel bridge designed to ease traffic flow in one of Accra’s busiest corridors. The interchange is expected to reduce travel time, improve road safety, and facilitate the movement of goods and services within the capital​​.
Government officials, including the Minister of Roads and Highways, are expected to attend the commissioning ceremony. The Minister previously highlighted the importance of the project, noting that it will significantly enhance urban mobility and support economic growth in the city.
