‘Notsamo’ Album Launch Tour Revs Up For Australia

Reasons behind the recording of his ‘Notsamo’ (Ga word for Continuation) music album included adding another solid platform for the spread of Ghanaian and African arts around the globe and Australia-based master drummer, multi-instrumentalist, choreographer and singer, Fredrick Nii Kpakpo Addo is ready to hit the road in Australia with the new product.
Addo is founder of the One Spirit Africa performance outfit in Australia and Mala Majo Entertainment based in Accra. A large part of the material on ‘Notsamo’ was recorded in Accra with elements from Mala Majo Entertainment because they perfectly understood the concept of the album.
“African culture dates back to many years. What we are doing now is primarily a continuation, with some modification, of some of the exciting things our people did long ago,” says Kpakpo Addo. “Mala Majo Entertainment folks played different roles that gave the album requisite depth and colour. That’s why I want to get some of them over to Australia for the launch tour.”
The album launch tour in Australia by One Spirit Africa in collaboration with Mala Majo Entertainment is scheduled to come off from January 2025 through to March 2025. The tour will take them to Adelaide, Melbourne, Canberra, Sydney, Perth and Brisbane, Kpakpo Addo indicated.
