The 18-0 fighter was born in Ordzhonikidzevskaya, Ingushetia, Russia, on February 11th, 1994. The 29-year-old is from the Ingush Teip Youvloy tribe, which is primarily inhabited by Sunni Muslims. He loves to talk about his faith through social media and shares his ideals on Instagram.
His Instagram bio translates to ‘There is no power nor strength except in God’ [from Arabic]. He has four brothers and one sister and is the cousin of Olympic gold medalist, and professional Greco-Roman wrestler, Musa Evloev.
He might be private about a lot of things in his life but he is very proud of his heritage and faith. He has posted many times on the holy festival of Eid. On June 16th as well he posted a picture of himself in front of Quba Mosque in Medina with the captions, “Eid Mubarak my Muslim brothers and sisters!!!”. The UFC featherweight star has a dominant streak and his roots were the reason for his UFC dream.
