How Savannah's top-flight modelling career was wrecked by drugs
Dec 6, 2024
A high-flying top Melbourne model who partied with A-list celebrities ended up homeless and in jail after party drugs wrecked her life and led to her downfall.
Savannah McKay, 27, had posed alongside Aussie tennis legend Pat Rafter and Scream actress Samara Weaving in glossy photoshoots before her drug habit derailed her career.
McKay drove a luxury Audi and lived at Prahran in Melbourne's affluent inner south while she worked for brands including The No Bra Club, Bettina and Bonds.
But her sudden fall from grace left her homeless and ultimately in jail.
The former private schoolgirl ended up at Melbourne's notorious Dame Phyllis Frost Centre women's prison after her party-drug addiction took a grip of her life.
McKay has previously admitted multiple drug possession offences and was expected to front a Melbourne court on Friday after she was charged with stalking her ex-boyfriend.
McKay, who had the stalking charges struck at today's hearing, had been accused of ringing his apartment doorbell for three hours straight during a suspected month-long campaign of harassment between November and December 2020.
She allegedly subjected her victim to a constant barrage of phone calls and created multiple Instagram accounts in an attempt to contact her ex.
McKay was also accused of appearing, uninvited, at the man's workplace 'numerous times' and also changed her ex partner's Bumble dating app profile.
