Ghana's Second Lady, Mrs. Samira Bawumia, is a woman of remarkable achievements whose story has often been overshadowed by her role as the wife of the country's Vice President. However, beneath the title lies a personality driven by compassion, intelligence, and a fierce commitment to humanitarian work. From a humble upbringing to becoming a global advocate for clean energy and women's empowerment, her journey is an inspiration to many.

Samira Bawumia was born on August 20, 1980, to a distinguished family. Her father, Mr. Ahmed Ramadan, was the former National Chairman of the People’s National Convention (PNC), while her mother, Hajia Ayesha Ramadan, was a prominent figure in her own right. Growing up in Ghana, Samira was exposed to a blend of cultures, speaking multiple languages, including Twi, Ga, Ewe, Fante, and Mamprusi fluently.

Her education began at the Answarudeen Islamic School in Fadama, followed by her elementary years at the Akosombo International School. She continued her secondary education at Alsyd Academy in Accra, before enrolling at the prestigious Mfantsiman Girls' Secondary School in Saltpond, one of Ghana's top institutions for female education. It was during these formative years that Samira began to develop her passion for knowledge and leadership.

Her academic journey continued at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), one of the top universities in Africa, where she earned a Bachelor of Science in Social Science with a focus on Law and Sociology. Samira's thirst for knowledge didn’t stop there. She later pursued an MBA at the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), where she emerged as the top student of her program. Demonstrating her versatility, she also completed a Bachelor of Law degree from the University of London, further solidifying her commitment to higher education.
