Eight Ex-MPs Short-Listed for ZACC Commissioners' Interviews

Eight former Members of Parliament (MPs) have been shortlisted to undergo public interviews for positions as commissioners at the Zimbabwe Anti-Corruption Commission (ZACC), following the expiry of the terms for all current commissioners.
In a statement, the Parliament of Zimbabwe revealed that Martin Rushwaya, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, notified the House of the vacancies at ZACC. In accordance with Section 237(1) of the Constitution, the Parliamentary Committee on Standing Rules and Orders (CSRO) invited the public to submit nominations for potential candidates for the commission.
A total of 145 nominations were received, comprising 112 males and 33 females. The CSRO then convened to review the submissions and shortlisted 47 candidates who will be invited to attend public interviews on December 19 this year.
Among those shortlisted are eight former lawmakers, including:
Anele Ndebele (Magwegwe)
Chido Madiwa (Proportional Representation)
Zalerah Makari (Epworth)
Justice Major Wadyajena (Gokwe-Nembudziya)
Tongai Matutu (Masvingo)
Berita Chikwama (Gutu East)
Last Chigavazira (Chegutu West)
Kindness Paradza (Makonde)
In addition to the former legislators, the list includes former ZACC commissioners Gabriel Chaibva and Thandiwe Thando Mlobane, human rights activist and lawyer Wilbert Mandinde, former police officer Resistant Ncube, and former Zimbabwe Electoral Commissioner Qhubani Moyo. Former Manicaland Senator Dorothy Mabika and economist Albert Makochekanwa are also in the running.
