Kojo Forex Shares ATM Card Online, Sparks Frenzy Among Ghanaians
Dec 12, 2024
Popular Ghanaian forex trader, Kojo Forex, caused a stir on social media after sharing photos of his ATM card, including the front and back, on X (formerly Twitter). Alongside the photos, he invited Ghanaians to shop for whatever they wanted as part of a festive giveaway to celebrate Christmas.
According to YEN, Kojo Forex’s gesture, which was meant to spread holiday cheer, quickly went viral, with netizens expressing both amusement and skepticism. Despite the visible card details, transactions were unsuccessful due to a One-Time Password (OTP) security restriction. This measure prevented unauthorized transactions, leading many to believe the entire act was a humorous prank.
The move sparked mixed reactions online. Some users attempted to use the card for purchases, only to be met with failed transactions. Others took to the comments to share their thoughts. A user, @Ghnathaniel, joked, “IGP can arrest you for this unless you add verification code...why cause tension and panic?” Another, @Theonlyolamide, added humorously, “God save you. I nearly ordered two houses in Banana Island.”
Some commenters praised Kojo Forex’s creativity, while others expressed disappointment at the prank-like nature of the gesture. One user, @AnyaLacey01, quipped, “Santa finally learned how to use a bank card,” reflecting the festive spirit behind the act.
