It can be so difficult finding the perfect pair of jeans, no matter what size you are. To be honest, I'm not a massive believer of sticking by sizes, because they can be so extremely varied.

However, for the purpose of finding out which high street retailer offers the most accurate, and the most comfortable pair of jeans, I visited four different popular stores. From New Look to River Island, it's safe to say that there's a broad section of denim items on offer - but which store was the best for a mid size 12 like me?

The results were varied, with one pair from one store that I couldn't even do up. However, I did fall in love with one pair, that much that I ended up purchasing them. With that being said, here's what I found.

Considering this pair of jeans is one of the most popular on the Marks & Spencer's website, I had high hopes for them, and sadly in terms of sizing I wasn't hugely impressed. I went for the size 12, and they felt quite tight and not hugely flattering.

They were relatively soft and stretchy, but I don't think I was a massive fan of the straight leg fit if I'm being honest. On the M&S website, the full product description reads: "Keep your casual style looking chic with these faded Sienna jeans. Straight leg cut and super stretch fabric with a soft feel for all-day comfort and flexibility. M&S Collection: easy-to-wear wardrobe staples that combine classic and contemporary styles."
