Meet The Husband to Deputy Chief Justice Philomena Mwilu Who Was Kenya's Former Attorney General

Philomena Mbete Mwilu is the Deputy Chief Justice (DCJ) and an advocate of the High Court of Kenya with over 33 years’ experience in the legal profession.Mwilu studied at Alliance Girls High School, thereafter, proceeded to study law at the University of Nairobi (UoN), graduating with a Bachelor of Laws.
In 1984, the High Court of Kenya admitted her as an advocate. She returned to the University of Nairobi for a Master of Laws Degree, graduating in 2018.
Philomena also holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree and a Master of Law degree from the University of Nairobi.She has a legacy of paying attention to issues pertaining the welfare of her colleagues. While working at Eldoret High Court, she noticed that a number of magistrates had a drinking problem and so she initiated counselling and bonding sessions with judicial officers to assist them.
During her vetting period, Justice Philomena Mwilu was accused by former Kandara MP Alice Wahome of incompetency and corruption. MP Alice Wahome had filed a petition with the Justice and Legal Affairs committee, claiming that the judge was incompetent and corrupt.
When the United States government banned Senior Counsel Amos Wako from setting foot in the US, the Busia Senator was, “Totally indifferent to the ban, I have no desire to visit US,” as he said.
