Check Out The 18 Children Of President Emmerson Mnangagwa And What They Do For A Living
Jan 1, 2025
Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s family dynamics have been a subject of public interest and speculation. A 2018 publication by a UK-based company alleged that Mnangagwa has 18 children, a figure that contrasts with the narrative presented on his official biography. The now-deleted biography had claimed he fathered nine children with two wives, Jayne Matarise and Auxillia Mnangagwa.
With his first wife, Jayne, whom he married in 1973, Mnangagwa reportedly has six children: Farai Celistine Mlotshwa, Tasiwa Nancy Dambudzo, Vimbayi, Tapiwa, Tariro, and Emmerson Tanaka. Jayne, a cousin of ZANLA commander Josiah Tongogara, passed away in 2002 from cervical cancer. During her life, she played a pivotal role in managing the family farm and business ventures while Mnangagwa focused on his political career.
Mnangagwa’s relationship with his second wife, Auxillia Kutyauripo, began while he was still married to Jayne. Together, they have three sons: Emmerson Jr., Sean, and Collins. Sean and Collins are twins. Auxillia, a former intelligence officer and ZANU-PF Central Committee member, has also made a name for herself in politics, serving as a member of Parliament and later focusing on her role as Zimbabwe’s First Lady.
Beyond his official family, reports suggest Mnangagwa has additional children. One such case involves Ethan Dumisani, reportedly born from a relationship with Sikulekile Mapfumo, a former university student. Mnangagwa is said to have provided a home for Mapfumo in Kwekwe. Another son, Kudakwashe David Mnangagwa, has emerged as a youth leader and deputy minister of finance.
