Phillip Chiyangwa, a controversial figure in Zimbabwe known for his immense wealth and influence, is now the subject of a revealing documentary aimed at shedding light on his rise to prominence and the sources of his prosperity. Born in 1959 in Chegutu, Zimbabwe, Chiyangwa's journey from humble beginnings to becoming a multi-billionaire has long been a topic of intrigue and speculation.
Raised in a large family of 14, Chiyangwa's early exposure to business came from assisting his mother in selling vegetables, laying the foundation for his future entrepreneurial endeavors. After completing his education, he embarked on a diverse career path that included stints as a machine operator, bookkeeper, and involvement in boxing promotion.
In the 1990s, Chiyangwa co-founded the Affirmative Action Group, establishing himself as a prominent black businessman in Zimbabwe. Over the years, his business empire expanded rapidly, spanning sectors such as property development, manufacturing, and entertainment, with high-profile events that brought international stars like Michael Jackson to Zimbabwe.
Chiyangwa's foray into football administration in 2015 marked a new chapter in his controversial career. Boldly proclaiming himself as "the god of football in Zimbabwe," he set his sights on securing positions within the Confederation of African Football (CAF) and FIFA.
