Two top AMOLED sports watches go head to head
The Forerunner 965 packs all of Garmin’s best features into a lightweight and attractive watch. It’s more expensive than the Coros, but you get a host of upgrades for your money, with the design, training analysis, smart features and navigation tools being better on the Forerunner 965.
For
Attractive design
Useful smart features
Extensive training analysis
Against
More expensive than Pace Pro
Shorter battery life than Pace Pro
The Coros Pace Pro is an impressive AMOLED sports watch with a lightweight design and great battery life. It offers a cheaper alternative to the Garmin Forerunner 965 and covers the essentials of sports tracking well while also offering offline maps for navigation.
For
Accurate, detailed tracking
Long battery life
Cheaper than Forerunner 965
Against
All-plastic design
Limited smart features
The Garmin Forerunner 965 and Coros Pace Pro are two of the best sports watches available, and two of my personal favorites to use while marathon training. I’ve worn both of them for the past month while training for the Seville Marathon, using them for daily runs, plus bike rides, strength and yoga sessions, and activity and sleep tracking.
Both watches have impressed me with their accuracy, sports tracking and training analysis tools, and both have enjoyable designs to wear 24/7, partly thanks to their bright AMOLED displays.
