Jan 15, 2025
Streaming services have made watching films much easier from the comfort of a viewer's own home. If someone misses the chance to watch a movie in the theater, the likelihood is it will be available on the likes of Netflix or Prime soon after. However, there are benefits to taking a trip to the big screen.
Some films are so epic they deserve to be viewed in a bigger way than just television. Sound, visual art and acting can all be boosted and enjoyed at their best on a theater screen. The following is a list of films that are worth watching in such a setting at least once, even if a fan has already seen them on TV.
James Cameron directed Avatar, which first came out in 2009. The science-fiction epic is guided by the main character, Jake. A paraplegic marine, Jake is sent to Pandora, a planet inhabited by Na'vi. Whilst on his mission, he has to make a tough decision between taking orders and protecting what he has come to know.

The most striking part of Avatar is its visual beauty. It's no surprise the movie won the Best Visual Effects category at the Academy Awards in 2010. The colors and blends of a fictional nature are nothing short of mesmerizing. The full impact of the scenery is best enjoyed on the big screen, allowing viewers to fully immerse themselves in the world. A sequel was released in 2022, and the third installment is due out this year.
