[SHOT 2025] The TINY Silencer Central Banish 9K
Jan 22, 2025
Silencer Central has a shockingly small new 9mm suppressor, the Banish 9K. It uses advanced manufacturing techniques to squeeze a lot of suppression into a very small package. And it is so light (less than 3 ounces!) that it doesn’t need a booster assembly to function.
The new Banish 9K is an ultra-lightweight suppressor made of 3D-printed titanium. It weighs in at a staggeringly low 2.7 ounces. It is so lightweight that it does not need a Nielsen device (aka booster) to operate on tilting-barrel pistols. I had the opportunity to fire it on both a Springfield Hellcat and a full auto Glock 18, and both functioned. I also fired it on a PCC setup with a fixed barrel in the same configuration with no need for a fixed barrel spacer or separate direct thread mount in lieu of a piston.
Silencer Central also managed to make the Banish 9K very quiet despite the fact that it is the size of a robust dill pickle. It is only 4.1 inches long by 1.3 inches in diameter. Though it is tiny it has eight baffles. The Silencer Central people would not tell me what design wizardry went into the design of those baffles but did say that additive manufacturing allowed many interesting new things. The design is also rated for calibers from 5.7x28 to 9mm, as well as .300 Blackout (subsonic only).
Two standard thread pitches are available, 1/x28 and 13.5x1LH. Both retail for $699 and are listed on the Silencer Central website for sale.
