Makhadzi Muimbi, fondly referred to as “The Queen of Africa,” has cemented her status as one of the most successful musicians of our time. Born Ndivhudzannyi Ralivhona on June 30, 1996, in Limpopo Province, Makhadzi’s rise to fame is a true rags-to-riches story that has inspired countless individuals.
Despite recent questions surrounding her educational background, Makhadzi has confirmed that she completed her Grade 12 at Mukula Integrated School and went on to pursue a degree in Public Relations and Drama. Her passion for
music led her to join a local musical group, Makirikiri, in 2010, where she showcased her vocal talents and eventually caught the attention of a studio owner.
Makhadzi’s debut album, Zwigevhenga, was released in 2012, followed by six more successful albums, including Muvhango, Ndo Tshiyani, Litshani U Tsala Murahu, Muhwalo Uya Ndemela, Yo Shoma, and Shumela Venda. Her breakthrough hit, “Matorokisi,” released in 2019, propelled her to stardom, and she has since become known for her energetic performances and chart-topping tracks.
Her personal life has also made headlines, including her high-profile relationship with Master KG, which ended in 2020. However, Makhadzi’s success has only continued to soar, with her fees reportedly exceeding R50,000 per booking. She has won numerous awards and has been recognized for her philanthropic efforts, including a recent donation of R1.5 million from Zimbabwean Finance Secretary Guvamatanga.
