Future of Ryan Giggs' former Worsley restaurant confirmed by new arrival
Feb 28, 2025

There have been rumours circulating for weeks about the new owners of George's in Worsley - now it has been confirmed

Work is underway to transform the site of Ryan Giggs's Worsley restaurant George's following its sudden closure last month - and its new owners can now be revealed.
The restaurant had been a mainstay of Worsley life for the past 11 years, after Manchester United legend Ryan teamed up with old school friends Bernie Taylor and Kevin Gregory to open their first venue together in their hometown. But the venue closed with "immediate effect" at the end of January.
However it has now been confirmed to the MEN that the site will reopen as a brand new restaurant - and residents of the village won't have to wait too long to book a table inside.
For Maturo Restaurant Group, who own the popular Noir restaurant in Monton, have today (February 27) announced the takeover of the former George’s site to become their new Mediterranean concept, NYX. It will be opening in March.
The venue, which is being completely refurbished, will feature an "elegant but inviting décor with a ‘simple but special’ menu paying homage to the Mediterranean with its design" bosses say.
Work is feverishly underway at the former George's Dining Room and bar on Barton Road in Worsley - with the former "G" signs taken down, and a major building operation taking place inside the white-washed building.
