Sky TV channels axed today as UK shake-up confirmed – here’s what you are losing
Feb 28, 2025
If you are trying and failing to find the usual Eurosport channels on your Sky or Virgin box you are not alone. This popular platform – which has been showing sporting action in the UK for over 30 years – has just been shut down across Britain meaning homes will no longer be able to tune in as part of their telly bundle.
The closure is due to Eurosport owners – Warner Bros Discovery (WBD) – moving content over to its TNT Sports and Discover+ platforms instead.
“Cycling, Tennis, Snooker and the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026 will join the Premier League, UEFA European Club Football, Premiership Rugby, MotoGP, UFC and Boxing live on TNT Sports,” the telly company confirmed in an update.
“Eurosport to integrate with TNT Sports in the UK & Ireland from February 28, 2025.”
Some Sky bundles do already include Discovery+ but those wanting to watch sporting action on TNT will have to pay more to watch.
“We know audiences are looking for a slightly simpler journey on where to find the sport they love,” said WBD Sports Europe chief Scott Young.
“This move will also continue to best deliver value for our leagues and federation partners, as we continue our 35 years plus commitment to investment and championing of sport on our screens.
“We’re building out the best sports and entertainment profile we have in this country. People can choose to make their decision as to how they want to engage with us in the short term. We are investing in cycling.
