Mar 4, 2025
The tragic passing of Joana Yabani, a final- year student at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), has left many in deep sorrow. A close friend of the late student has spoken out, sharing heartfelt memories of their time together and demanding justice for Joana.
In a video circulating on social media, Joana' s friend, who is currently studying abroad, looked visibly shaken and emotional as she reminisced about the bond they shared back in Achimota School. She described Joana as a kind and down- to- earth person who never hesitated to help others.
" I knew Joana personally. She was the nicest person, always willing to help. You could see how beautiful she was, both inside and out. She would never hurt a fly. It' s painful to even think that someone could do this to her, " she said in a sorrowful tone.
The grieving friend also called for justice, urging authorities to ensure that whoever was responsible for Joana' s death faces the full consequences of the law. " If it is true that he did it, then may God judge him accordingly, " she added.
Reports suggest that Joana may have been in a relationship with a young man named Daniel Tuffour, who is now a prime suspect in her death. A relationship counselor, Rose Aboagyewaa Adjei, weighed in on the issue, stating that dating among university students comes with challenges.
