Ghanaians Respond as NPP MP Reveals Where Stolen Funds by the NPP Are Hidden
Mar 5, 2025
In a controversial interview on UTV, Edward Ennin, the former Member of Parliament for Obuasi East and ex-member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), made serious allegations of large-scale embezzlement under President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo's administration. Ennin claimed to have evidence that substantial state funds were illicitly transferred both within Ghana and internationally.
Once a key figure in the NPP, Ennin accused top government officials, including ambassadors and diplomats, of being involved in the misappropriation of public funds. He specifically pointed to Ghanaian ambassadors and high commissioners, alleging they were responsible for moving stolen state money abroad. Ennin suggested the existence of a coordinated network behind these actions, asserting, "The ambassadors know about the stolen funds that have been sent overseas. We will soon see what happens."
Ennin also raised concerns that some of these misappropriated funds may have been invested in foreign businesses, particularly in the oil industry in Guyana. He speculated that state resources could be linked to oil exploration projects in the country, which, if proven true, could lead to serious legal and financial consequences.
Despite the gravity of his allegations, Ennin expressed his willingness to present his evidence to any investigative committee. He emphasized his dedication to the nation, saying, “I’m ready to go before any committee to present my evidence because Ghana’s interest comes first.” His readiness to testify could trigger a full investigation into these claims.
